Privacy Policy.
Last reviewed: July 2026.
1. Who we are
Travel Spring ("we", "us", "the house") is a small lighthouse-station hotel on the Sognefjord at Fjærland, Norway. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Correspondence about privacy may be addressed to [email protected].
2. What we collect, and why
We collect only what is needed to answer your correspondence and to keep the website working:
- Enquiry details — name, email, arrival dates, number of guests, and the note you send us through the enquiry form. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Essential cookies — small technical values that remember your age confirmation and your cookie choice, so the notices do not reappear at every page load. Lawful basis: your consent, and our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f)).
- Optional analytics — only if you accept them through the cookie banner. Lawful basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
3. How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is retained for up to twenty-four months from the last message, so we can follow up on planned stays across seasons. Consent choices stored in your browser last for twelve months unless you clear them earlier. Analytics data, when accepted, is retained for fourteen months in aggregate form.
4. Who else sees it
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertising networks. Email correspondence is handled by our mail provider under a standard data-processing arrangement. We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area without appropriate safeguards.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR (Articles 13 to 22) you may ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Write to us at the address above and we shall answer within one calendar month. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
6. Changes
This notice may be updated from time to time; the date at the top of the page shows when it was last reviewed. Material changes will be flagged on the site's front page for a reasonable period.
